VCU Safety and Risk Management partnered with the Richmond Fire Department to provide fire safety education through the Commonwealth of Virginia's OnTheSquareVA program, which brings a variety of activities to Capital Square for the benefit of state employees.
VCU Human Resources volunteered to help out with field day at Blackwell Elementary School.
During July’s heatwave, VCU Police accepted donations through LemonAid, a fundraiser that supports the Children's Hospital at VCU.
Wyatt Carpenter from VCU Facilities Management Office of Sustainability was presented the VCU Council for Community Engagement "Currents of Change" Award for his work with the Carver Tree Project.
The Office of Sustainability will open an on-campus shop that allows members of the VCU community to donate or take home free art and school supplies, electronics, small furniture, home goods, sports equipment, books and more. Learn more.
VCU Administration employees delivered children's books to the Arthur Ashe Books 4 Kids program at the Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU. The program provides books for all children at CHOR and promotes childhood literacy. Employees also delivered diapers to the YWCA Sprout School and household supplies to Home Again, an organization that helps families and individuals who are experiencing homelessness.
